There’s someone in your community who needs to meet someone else

Many of us are one really powerful connection away from achieving something miraculous. Online communities have the power to make this miracle happen. Yours too.

There's someone in your community that needs to meet someone else in your community. You don't know for why yet. You don't know what's going to happen when they meet. But it definitely exists.

If your community can match the right people at the right time, in the right context, in the right environment - you’ll be responsible for unlocking this magic.

But you can’t expect your members to go through profiles of nine hundred and ninety nine other members to make that 1 magic connection. And you definitely can’t make them rely on you to play the matchmaker.

We built Curated Connections to help you do that.

Imagine this, 2 creators in your community get on the Zoom and realize they're both making the same monthly revenue and think that's a total coincidence. But it's no

    Using templates

We have a library of templates for the most common types of matching programs our users create using the tool. You can use those to quickly set up a program that makes powerful matches between your members.

    Here's how..

    1. Sign up or Sign in

No points for guessing this. Click on the Create Program button on the homepage or visit this link to create a new account. You will be taken to a page that looks like this:

Or, if you already have an account click the Sign In button on the homepage to log into your account with your email.

You'll be taken to your dashboard where you'll be taken to the 1-on-1 Networking tab which should look something like this.

    Program Builder

The Program Builder will allow you to create a program that looks something like this. This is there your community members will go to sign up for your program.

You don't need an hour to learn this tool - it's as intuitive a form builder. There are just 3 parts to building such a program -

    1. Tell us about your program

This is where you give your program a name, description, logo and a unique link that members will use to signup.

    Screenshot 2024-07-04 at 9.58.59 AM.png

    2. Add signup questions that determine introductions

This is where the magic happens.

You add multiple-choice questions that determine who gets matched with whom. You can add as many questions as you like and give them as many options as you want.

There can be 2 types of questions: single-select or multi-select.

    Don't-match rules and Must-match rules

These rules allow you to customise the matching algorithm. By default, we match any 2 members who have a lot of answers in common. Here, you can add rules for which segments of your community should not be matched even if they have a lot in common.

    Don't match rules:

For example, don't match 'Australia timezone' with 'Pacific timezone' or don't match 'Investor' with 'Investor'.

    Must match rules:

Members who get matched must have answers to these questions in common. For example, you may want to only match people who hav

I’m sure you want your new networking program to be a hit amongst your community members. We want that too! So here are our tips on things you can do to make it a hit.

Where to find the share link

It’s in your dashboard under the Invite members button. Copy that link and share it with the members of your community.

    Start matching when you're ready

By default, we pause new matches from being sent out for your program. This is to let the pool fill up a little bit before the algorithm tries to find the best match for people.

When you feel you have enough members, you can hit the Resume matching button in your dashboard to start sending matches.

Best practices for a successful launch

Over the course of working with multiple communities to help them launch their networking programs, we’ve discovered some best practices that help in maximising interest from the community members.

    Make a big, splashy announcement

Getting the opportunity to be introduced to likeminded members, is a huge opportunity for your members. So treat it like a big launch out of it and announce it to your members.

    Example:

Hey everyone, I’m excited to announce a new program to give what a lot of you have been asking me for - meeting more community members who you can learn from.

Presenting, Speed Networking with Generalists! Here we will introduce you to 1 other member that we think you’ll vibe with.

    Here’s how it works:

    • Sign up here and fill out the form.
    • We’ll then do all the hard work for you and find you a suitable match
    • Then, we’ll introduce you over email and on Slack, then leave you to continue the conversation.

    Setting up your member directory

If you're building your community on a platform like Slack, Whatsapp or Discord, you must be familiar with the "Who's who?" struggle:

    • "how do i find out other Partnership Professionals who work in B2B SaaS?”
    • “I’m visiting Singapore for a week. how can i see other designers who live in Singapore?”
    • " I would love to help other founders here. how can i learn what they’re are working on?”

It exists because these community platforms don't provide a useful directory of members. That's why we've build a directory tool. It is designed from the ground up to spark connections in your community.

    It has:

    • Rich profile cards - see who's who at a glance
    • Filterable profiles - to help them find their tribe
    • Warm email intros - that allow privacy-friendly connections

This tool is included in your Curated Connections subscription. Here's how you can use it.

    Q. How does the matching work?

By default, we do likeminded matching. That means, we match people who have the most no. of answers in common.

But if you want to customise the matching algorithm for your community, you can use the “Must match” and “Don’t match” rules under Advanced Settings.

    Q. Why can’t I delete or edit the “How often do you want to get matched?” question?

This question is automatically added by the tool to every program to let members decide the frequency of matches. Therefore, it can’t be modified or edited.

    Q. How will I know if the members are meeting after an introduction is made?

We send an NPS-style survey to members after every 3 matches. Here the members can give a rating from 1-5 and add optional comments.

You can see the results from your survey by clicking on the Average Scorecard.

    Q. My members are complaining about being ghosted on the intro email. How can I reduce it?
